Christmasy Season Starts Nov 1, 2012

23-qvc-blog

The start of November also means the start of the Christmas season (at least for us here at OCmodshop).  Vendors really want to get reviews done on their new products, so that our loyal readers can be informed about the products they want to buy this year.

As we’ve said in our Anti-Gift-Giving Guide (link here) and Girl’s Gift Guide for the Geek Guy (link here), computer parts can be a very personal and thoughtful gift.

The main OCmodshop office has the Christmas spirit, as we’ve already put up holiday lights and broken out the pine-scented Yankee Candles.

Another thing that means the start of the Shopping Season is QVC is on the television almost constantly, because it’s non-stop holiday comedy… especially when they try to sell computer stuff.  When trying to fill time, the women hawking a new laptop was saying “in case you didn’t know, RAM stands for Ram Access Memory”.  At least have the effeminate tall guy trying to sell the computer stuff.  Geez.

We also count how many times the hosts use the word “literally”.  It can easily be turned into a fun drinking game.  If the host actually uses the word correctly, then you have to take 2 drinks…
