It seems that Treyarch, the developers, have tried to focus on a more developed backstory and character storyline than actual gameplay. That may not sit well with gamers who want a full blown world war experience.

Postal 2 Complete is a version of this classic game on the Steam platform, and became available as a result of the community’s Greenlight program. This version of the game includes both official expansion packs: “Share The Pain” and “Apocalypse Weekend”.
The whole game centers on Randall Wayne, one of few survivors of a virus that reanimates the dead. The story is set in Seattle in the summer of 1986.
Lucius is a new horror adventure/puzzle game that is a little different. Instead of a typical survival horror scenario, you play the role of the antihero, a 7-year old boy who happens to have been born on June 6, 1966 (6/6/66).
Supernatural horror fans are in for one frantic thrill ride with the release of F.E.A.R. 3 from Warner Bros. interactive. The game returns the original games protagonist the Point Man to the series as his absence was severely missed in the previous game. The game takes place approximately 9 months after the events of F.E.A.R [...]
If the gaming industry had something like IMDB, you would see Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars, Fable 2, The Sims and the Syphon Filter, just to name a few, under Richard Ham’s bio. Later this year, Richard will add creative director of Brink, a new first person shooter being developed by Splash Damage [...]
Recently I got the chance to speak with Chris Taylor about the upcoming Supreme Commander 2 which is poised to take Real Time Strategy gaming to a new level. I want to thank Chris for taking the time to answer my questions and for Barandon at Mav PR for arranging the interview OCMS: What is [...]
While visiting Zalman at a few trade shows, I was introduced to their new stereoscopic 3d monitor: the Zalman Trimon 22-inch monitor. nVidia has been showing off their own solutions that use any regular monitor, so what makes this monitor different, and why would you want to buy one? I spoke with Richard Chung of [...]
We recently had a chance to be part of a group discussion with the developers of Bioshock 2, who answered our questions about their highly anticipated shooter. The developers taking part of the discussion were: Jordan Thomas – Creative Director, 2K Marin Zak McClendon – Lead Designer, 2K Marin Hogarth De La Plante – Lead [...]
The highly popular Call of Duty series has returned in grand style with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The game not only continues the epic series in a grand way but, for my money, is the best in the series to date and is one of the most intense and gripping games ever crafted. [...]
I don’t believe there are enough survival horror games. Resident Evil rocked for a while, then they decided to focus on insane hillbillies instead of what they were good at… zombies. The original Xbox hailed tons of awesome horror games, which made it my favorite console to play when it was popular. Cold Fear, Doom [...]
Recently I spoke with Rick Van Beem Public Relations Manager for Playlogic Game Factory as well as Producer Martin Jense about their new game Fairytale Fights which was a blast to play at PAX. I want to thank Rick for answering my questions and for Danitra for arranging the interview GVK: What is the background [...]
Recently I spoke with Antti Summala, lead designer on Shattered Horizon. Shattered Horizon is a multiplayer first-person shooter for PCs that tasks players to battle in the zero gravity of near-Earth space. A closed beta test has just started. Some of the details below may change before the game’s final release. GVK: What is the [...]
There were several vendors at PAX 09 that were showing off Resident Evil 5 for the PC. Of course, the Capcom booth was featuring the latest zombie shooter, and nVidia was showing how it worked with their exclusive 3d technology. I spoke with the Microsoft rep at the Games for Windows section about how the [...]
Fresh off Blizzcon, Starcraft II was available for a 20 minute play-through at PAX. After years we finally have a chance to play a sequel to the beloved real time strategy released back in 1998. If you’re looking for something that reinvents the genre much like Warcraft III did a few years then ago-keep looking. [...]
OCmodshop was first in line to get a glimpse of Red Dead Redemption; the sequel to 2005’s critically mixed Red Dead Revolver. Keep in mind, Rockstar was very tight about security breaches. No pictures could be taken, videos recorded etc. So we have only what we saw. The game takes place around 1910 in the [...]
