It seems that Treyarch, the developers, have tried to focus on a more developed backstory and character storyline than actual gameplay. That may not sit well with gamers who want a full blown world war experience.

Following on the success of its preceding title, Guitar Hero World Tour, Activision brings gamers Guitar Hero 5. Building on the popularity of playing in a four-person band experience, GH5 opens up opportunities not just to play a new, if somewhat eclectic, playlist, it also gives players the freedom to play lead and bass guitar, [...]
Resident Evil 5 for PC Preview
There were several vendors at PAX 09 that were showing off Resident Evil 5 for the PC. Of course, the Capcom booth was featuring the latest zombie shooter, and nVidia was showing how it worked with their exclusive 3d technology. I spoke with the Microsoft rep at the Games for Windows section about how the [...]
Red Dead Redemption First Look
OCmodshop was first in line to get a glimpse of Red Dead Redemption; the sequel to 2005’s critically mixed Red Dead Revolver. Keep in mind, Rockstar was very tight about security breaches. No pictures could be taken, videos recorded etc. So we have only what we saw. The game takes place around 1910 in the [...]
The Conduit Review (Wii)
As an owner of the Wii gaming system by Nintendo, I was at first captivated by the joy and novel nature of playing Wii sports. The fun of being more interactive in my games had my mind racing with possibilities of what future games would hold as developers became more familiar with the system and [...]
Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings Review (PSP)
Since we have already published an official review of IJatSoK for the Wii (read it here), I decided to publish my thoughts on the PSP version of the game. I’m glad to see a lot more Indiana Jones around, because there was such a drought of content between the third and fourth movies. I’ll just [...]

Everyone has been anticipating the release of BioShock 2 ever since it was announced, and has been really hyped by the media. Many review websites gave it very high marks, like a 9.5 or 10 out of 10. While BioShock 2 is a very good game, I disagree with other critics that it is nearly [...]

This is one of the first games on the PSP to make extensive use of the internet, and Sony’s Playstation Network. Sony is finally starting to flex its [...]
Fix: Can’t change resolution on Silent Hill Homecoming
I love downloading games from Steam, because you don’t have to deal with DRM and having to find a game disc every time you want to play. So, I downloaded Silent Hill Homecoming from Steam, but I am forced into a low resolution. I have a freakin 28″ 1900×1200 monitor, and have a ATI 4850 [...]
Killzone 2 Review
Sony and Guerilla games have combined to produce the first must have game for 2009. Killzone 2 is a non-stop thrill ride that is easily the best first person shooter developed for the Playstation 3 console. The game follows up the events of the first game as well as the popular Kilzone: Liberation for the [...]
Little Red Riding Hood’s Zombie BBQ (DS)
Let’s face it: shooting zombies are fun. Maybe it’s because we all secretly want to go Postal at some point, and can hide behind the moral mask that these humanoids aren’t real humans. There’s no moral ambiguity: you have to shoot your former colleague in the head or become zombie chow. There are lots of [...]
