What will follow in this article and others is a step by step account of the project mods, fabrication as well tips and tricks I have discovered along the way…

Fush Zero – Part 1
Thursday, February 19, 2004
“You can think of those of us who modify cases as a brand of utilitarian pop artists. We change and shape our cases into forms which express our own sense of style and individual attitudes. What we feel is cool, attractive or interesting will normally find its way onto our blank canvases. It’s no different with this project…”

Speed Strip SSA-1 review
Wednesday, February 11, 2004
“This product is a really good idea and will help anyone who is looking to overclock their CPU as much as possible. If your motherboard allows you to change the multiplier of your CPU without physically unlocking it you do not need this product. If you have a motherboard that does not allow you to change the multiplier on your CPU without it being physically unlocked you should love this thing. In the past I have spent a lot of time physically unlocking CPUs by hand which can be a real pain because the bridges are so small. With this Speed Strip I was able to take my CPU out, install it, reinstall my CPU, and change my multiplier in about 10 minutes.”

256MB Verbatim Store n Go USB 2.0 drive review
Friday, February 06, 2004
“After finishing the review on my previous USB 2.0 drive I didn’t think that the speeds would be much different between devices. I was clearly wrong because this Verbatim drive is much faster than any other USB drive that I have ever used. Not only is it extremely fast but it stores 256MB of data, and is very small. Along with being fast, small, and having a large capacity size it works with just about every operating system that you would be using.”

256MB USB 2.0 Pen Drive review
OCmodshop :: Monday, February 02, 2004
“Inside of the box you will find a driver CD, quick installation guide, USB extension cord, neck strap, and docking station. The driver CD is only necessary if you are using Windows 98, all other operating systems supported should automatically detect it and install the drivers for you. The USB extension cord is a nice feature however I have not used it yet because of the docking station included. The docking station is a great added bonus because if your case does not have any front USB then you will have to plug it in from the back each time.”

OCmodshop was Slashdotted yesterday
Friday, January 30, 2004
If you tried to access the site yesterday and were unable to or it was extremely slow there was a good reason. Slashdot posted a link to the SilenX 400w 14 dBA PSU review that was written. Because of how big they are the site was basically slammed and at one point the server did go down for about 2 hours because I simply did not have enough bandwidth. I ran the logs on my server from yesterday and we ended up getting 23,734 unique visitors and 690,049 hits. Yesterday was the biggest day OCmodshop has ever had, I just wish it was like that everyday. Today the server is pretty much back to normal but there are still a lot of people accessing the site which is great! If you were unable to get to the article yesterday you should have no problem today.

SilenX 400w 14 dBA PSU
OCmodshop :: Monday, January 26, 2004
“The power supply doesn’t boast any flashy designs or cool colors however that is not the purpose of this power supply. Silence is what the main goal of the unit is and there are tons of features to help achieve that.”

Power supply sleeving guide
OCmodshop :: Thursday, January 22, 2004
“Looking for a sleek way to present your power supply’s ugly cabling? There are several methods of cleaning up the wire jungle, be it electrical tape, split loom, wire wrap, or expandable sleeving. This guide will assist you in your quest for a case with higher performance, and much better looks, especially if you have a case window.”
AOpen ACK7L review
OCmodshop :: Friday, January 16, 2004
This heatsink comes packed in somewhat abnormal fashion, it looks more like a spindle of CD-RWs not a heatsink. Either way its nice to see something different than the standard plain box. From the side of the package you can also see that the heatsink is quite large due to the ducting that it comes with.

Albatron KM18G Pro review
Monday, January 12, 2004
I wanted to use the Power-Color Radeon 9200SE rather than a higher end video card because the onboard video is not a high end solution. If I were to put in a really good video card the comparison really wouldn’t matter. I wanted to see how two low end budget effective solutions would do against each other to give a better comparison. I also tested the 9200SE on the Abit NF7-S to compare the two motherboards effectively.

Happy New Year
OCmodshop :: Saturday, January 01, 2004
Well it is now 2004 and almost OCmodshop’s 2 year anniversary which will be this month. We have a lot more writers than we did at the beginning of last year so hopefully there should be a lot more action. Also I hope to make some changes to a lot of things on the site which will make it better. I hope that everyone will continue to support OCmodshop like they have in the past and we all look forward to this year. I would really like to thank all of the companies that have supported OCmodshop over these years which are too many to list here. For a list of the sponsors we would like to thank please click here.
