Verbatim Store’n’Go 4GB USB HDD makes apps portable!
Thursday, August 31, 2006
It’s hard to imagine a portable device today without some sort of flash memory. They are ubiquitous among technology consumers, and enthusiasts use them to transport files between home and work. Now “portable apps” are starting to emerge, whereas you can run an all-inclusive program from a flash device on any PC. All the configuration is kept on the portable device: no InstallShield, no registry, no “DLL hell”.

Verbatim has released their Store’n’Go Hard Drive which aspires to be more than a traditional portable drive. This device allows you to run applications directly, without installing on the host machine. You can even browse directly from it, preventing all temporary internet files (including favorites, history, etc) from even touching the host computer.

DVD Insider #66 – Mobile Entertainment – Bring It On
DVD Insider :: Wednesday, August 30, 2006
Nothing more stressful for a parent than a daughter trying out for the cheer squad. Well OK there is keeping up with their content “needs” (hey, it’s the business we’re in!!!) which means anytime, anywhere, everywhere, all the time. It’s driving storage thru the roof. It’s driving Tellywood nuts. Both sides say simply…Bring It On!!!

PAXtravaganza! Day 1
Saturday, August 26, 2006
PAX was started by the creators of the Penny Arcade comic strip as a way to give back to the gaming community that supports them. Gabe and Tycho hold frequent events for charity in Seattle, and are well-known for their generous nature and respected businessmen in the area.

This gaming convention has been such a big success that now it has spilled over into three hotels in addition to the huge convention center.

This year is the best year ever: not because Microsoft and Nintendo have decided to join, not because of the huge gaming tournaments, but because OCmodshop has graced the doors with their presence!

Palm’s TX Handheld – High Power Wireless PDA
Tuesday, August 22, 2006
Palm’s newest iteration of their world famous PDAs, the TX is easily the most complete and versatile of currently available handhelds. Palm has had some challenging times in the past few years; strong competition from hardware vendors like Sony, operating system competition from the likes of Microsoft, and various business transitions have forced the mighty Palm to innovate and expand. Now who can complain about innovation? One area in which Palm is doing very well is what I call the “chunky mobile phone market”. Just about every mobile phone carrier has a Palm-powered phone with a tiny keyboard, Wi-Fi, data manager, camera, etc.

OCZ PC-4000 EB Platinum 2GB DDR Dual-Channel DDR Review!
June 27, 2006
Say that 3 times fast!

The first impression of these modules is that they are beautiful. The heat spreaders are polished and the OCZ logo is embellished on the side, and have OCZ’s trademark weight. They are not light by any means, and fingerprints will easily show up on these polished plates. My first instincts were to jump right in and just ‘clock the snot of of this memory, but I resisted. Instead I started off slow and easy.

Prey – A 360 Experience!
Saturday, August 12, 2006
It seems, that aliens have come for a visit and have every intention of killing off the human race. But while being transported through the spaceship with his loved ones, Tommy is granted a reprieve when what appears to be a human like creature plants a bomb and frees him from his bindings. Now Tommy, armed only with a pipe wrench and a bad attitude is desperate to find Jen and Enisi and get the hell off the alien’s spaceship.

But if that were it, then Prey would be guilty of only having a formulaic approach to the genre, fortunately, more plot devices are introduced and Tommy, who has never accepted his heritage discovers that in his Cherokee blood, the skills needed to fight the aliens are available. And only by accepting who he is, will he be able to save Jen and the world.
