Case made completely out of fans
OCModshop :: Thursday, August 11, 2005

I work in a computer store building PCs all day. With every new case there are one or two 8cm case fans included. Most of the systems we build do not need any more cooling than is supplied by the CPU fan as most of our customers generally don’t go in for all this “overclocking malarky”. Looking around the stock room I discovered two large boxes of unused 8cm case fans.

Microsoft Optical Desktop with Fingerprint Reader @ Bytesector
OCModshop :: Saturday, August 06, 2005
“There’s no doubt you’ve all heard the lectures about the importance of creating secure passwords containing numbers, letters and all sorts of other characters. Creating the password is easy, remembering them is an entirely different story. This can be a big problem for websites that lock you out after a few unsuccessful login attempts. Fortunately, Microsoft has come up with a fingerprint reader, which upon user authorization, will automatically log you into any website or Windows itself. Today, we are testing Microsoft’s Optical Desktop with Fingerprint Reader, which conveniently features the fingerprint scanner on the keyboard itself and comes bundled with a wireless mouse for your surfing pleasure. This keyboard certainly has a lot of potential, but we’ll find out if the new technology is all it’s cracked up to be. ”

OCZ PC2-6400 Gold Series @ Bytesector

“OCZ has been a quality manufacturer of memory for many years. In the recent past, Bytesector has been privileged to review OCZ’s latest and greatest DDR and DDR2 memory modules available. Today, I will be taking a look at their second-best DDR2-800 memory modules, also known as their Gold Series. While these modules sport a nice 800MHz module speed, the latency timings take away from the potential performance for 800MHz modules. Regardless of the timings, these modules showed some fairly good performance.”
