Author : Chase Alix
Date : Thursday, July 06, 2006
Vendor : SiSoft

Intro

SiSoftware is a leader in benchmarking software. Businesses and individuals alike use their tools for monitoring performance on systems. Sandra 2007, SiSoftware’s newest version of their famous Sandra, includes all the modules from the previous versions and comes packed with even more.

When first loading up Sandra 2007, you are presented with a small splash screen and then are taken to the Home tab of the program. The icons shown in the Home are links to other tabs: Tools, Benchmarks, Hardware, Software, and Testing. Almost every icon listed will open a wizard to easily walk you through the process of running that feature.

The Tools tab allows you to do a few things. First off, it provides a way to manage the program with updates and add new modules. It also has features that give advice on how to improve system performance, create reports about your system, and monitor the systems environment. It also includes a Burn-In function, which tests the stability of the computer, extremely useful for systems that are overclocked.

The Benchmark tab provides functions that can test almost everything on your system. This includes the CPU, memory, hard disks, CD/DVD ROM, network, PSU, etc. It is definitely one of the most complete benchmarking tools available.

The Hardware tab gives you access to a number of tools allowing you to view almost any information you would need about your system. Functions included are motherboard, processors, disks, printers, and much more.

The next tab is the Software tab. This tab provides features for viewing information about installed software. This includes key software (such as default web browser, e-mail program, etc.), OS information, processes, memory usages, etc.

The other two tabs, Testing and Support, are used for getting support from SiSoftware and viewing the event logs and configuration files of your system.
