Title : Play WoW for Free with WoWScape

WoW Away the Hours For Nuttin'

The world of MMORPG has exploded over the last few years. You can literally think of anything you want to be, and be it. Not only that, but you can share the experience with thousands of other players who have the same fantasy gaming addictions. Even Disney has introduced a multiplayer game based on their widely popular Pirates of the Caribbean movies. The internet has taken the social out of society, and then slapped it right back in there in the form of online role-playing.

But one game heralded the age of MMORPG, and still remains at the top. The World of Warcraft. It has the power to engulf your mind in a world of fantasy creatures and fantastic worlds. With several races to choose from and over a million players from around the world logging in to battle, Warcraft has staked its claim as the leader in online gaming. And you too can experience their “World”, for a mere $15.00 per month, plus the cost of the game.

Unless, that is, you are one of the thousands of people who are members of WoWscape.net. Founded only recently, WoWscape is the best place to go for those with tight wallets who crave adventure. Based out of Texas and run by a team of owners and volunteers, funded only with donations, WoWscape is the largest and most stable free World of Warcraft server online today. I have tested every one of the servers at www.xtremetop100.com, and no other server has come as close to attaining the stability and consistency that WoWscape has achieved.

After a year of playing their servers, I am happy to say that I will be sticking with them as long as I have the urge to play Warcraft. Not to say that Blizzard isn’t worth paying for. The Blizzard servers have pretty much perfected the online gaming environment. But for those who don’t have (or simply don’t want to pay) the extra $15.00 per month for Blizzard access, WoWscape is the way to go.

So whether you are a seasoned vet or a complete noob, I hope to see you inside. And if you happen upon a player called Fathermayii, give me wave. Just don’t kill me. I’m too busy to die.

First of all Wowscape IS not the largest, and resets 10-30 times a day. The administrators make NO attempt at letting you know when a restart will occur. Most instances are Bugged, and they kick ban people in bugged instances that they have no control over. If you don't mind the constant server restarts then may I direct you to management. Many players each day are banned for offense they did not commit, and completely at the whim of the 14 year old GMs. Imagine spending all the time leveling your character, just to have your account banned because... This is very common with wowscape. I will end with "I love Lag", at peek hours this server is very laggy. Pvp and pve is impossible. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. You wont regret it.
By Don Haynes on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 8:14:09 PM
First of all, at the time I wrote this WoWscape (now called Scape Gaming) was the number one server on the Xtreme Top100 list. The administrators give you plenty of notice, if you bother to check in with the website instead of just logging in a playing. Contribute to the website and forums, and you might be enlightened. Bugs happen, especially when you don't have the funds that Blizzard has. As for the age of GM's, you don't know how old they are, and it doesn't matter. The hours they log on this game makes them more than qualified in the minds of the owners, so that's really none of our business. And obviously, if you have been banned, it was for a reason. Stop speedhacking or whatever it is you do. And when you run a server for free that runs solely on donations, then there's not going to be quite the amount of bandwidth that the major servers have. So if you are here on behest of another server to make others look bad, save your time. I never would have mentioned the Top 100 at all if I were only for WoWscape. This article was to steer people toward free servers to play on, not a boost for WoWscape only. WoWscape was simply the front runner of the movement so it makes sense to use them as an example. The quality they have now compared to when this article was published has changed. It happens. So next time you have an opinion, try to make it a helpful one and not make yourself look like a pompous ass.

    Wowscape rocks.

Made 10 lvl 70 characters in 2 months and 2 500 members guild. Played as Papillon on Skullcrusher but Blizzard has NAZI style politices. I got a warning from Blizzard for saying "i am a black jewish homosexual".

Now i play on wowscape. Finally WOW is fun and no more endless grinds like on blizard realms.

Papillion, I agree with you. The bigger the business the more control they want over what you say and do. I find WoWscape very fair and a pleasure to play their servers. Bloodninja, you are a weird, weird man. Very weird. Thanks for the comments.

Lmao... forget WOWscape and join Conflict Warcraft's instant 70 BG server:

    www.conflictwarcraft.com forum

They also have a funserver with scripted instances!!
    By Skullz69 on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 4:13:25 PM
WoWscape is the best private server outthere today. Cwarcraft, Conflict Warcraft has scripted intances... dont make me laugh.

Wowscape sucks. The donations are used to pay the monthly fees for the server to be up, any excess is taken by the owners and used to buy ipods and crap like that, just check their website and listen to the "recorded explanation", the lamest excuse I've ever seen for simple theft..
GMs ban people on no solid grounds, and they only work on game tickets referring to donation issues.
Simple quest bugs just aren't adressed...
    There's still more...
By Dazareth on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 12:58:48 AM
I have a question ? When they will upgrade wow scape to wotlk ?? please tell me if u know xD
By Superninja on Friday, November 21, 2008 8:48:59 AM
wowscape now sucks more than always, is all the damn day down, "they say for mantaince", but when it comes online is lagged, bugged, sucks, i played for more than 5 months now i hate it really bad, dont play here, go another server, admins bans you becouse you are... tall?, omg, they only want donations to buy porn dvds that kiddie admins, wowscape = LAG, NOOB ADMINS, BUGS, if you like that sure join! =)
By malloki on Monday, November 24, 2008 8:53:53 AM
with in the past few days ive seen no lag what so ever in scape and complaning about bugs on a private server is about like going to the amazon and complaning about the mesquitos if you cant take the few bugs the go back to retail.
By Give Me A Break on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 7:59:05 AM
These people who say all good things about WoWscape are OBVIOUSLY working for them or they are just the type of people who love to kiss ass. Want to get banned for nothing by a high school punk? Then join. Want to have your tickets ignored because they only address DONOR tickets? Then join. OMG so much more, the owner, Peyton, is a seriously greedy bitch.
By Don Haynes on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 4:48:20 PM
Want to join a great server? Then buy a legal copy of the damned game and play for Blizzard. EVERY free server out there is a complete pain in the ass. This article was meant to steer people toward a cheaper way to enjoy the game, but I see it has done nothing but catch the attention of jackasses who have so little to do in life that they can't decide which free server to play their illegally downloaded software on. So they blast the article that cites a single server for example. It's time to get lives people. Go play Blizzard. Now can I have my free t-shirt, Blizzard execs?
By Para on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 4:12:08 PM
With all due respect OP, "WoWscape is the best place to go for those with tight wallets who crave adventure." no longer applies (unless by adventure you mean a few skilled PvPers and a huge player base).
By Para on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 4:12:46 PM
    ..Continued
WoWScape has gone downhill since June, and more so since I joined (coming up on 2 years ago).
WoWscape simply doesn't have the charm it used to, the charm that's popping up in a few other servers (I won't name them).
It lacks a good management structure, maturity and the owner is somewhat corrupt from what I know.
There is a lot of petty bullst that goes on which should never be public, and the staff are overworked and encouraged to support only the people who 'donate' to the server (purchase gear).

By Para on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 4:13:06 PM
..Continued again (triple post =( )
I agree with Mr. Haynes where he said "Go play Blizzard". If you really crave adventure, buy it. WoWscape simply isn't worth the disappointment and wasted bandwidth.
By nonameguy on Thursday, November 27, 2008 1:31:54 PM
I think WoWScape is a good server.I have no lag and I think it's better than most servers. The only thing I hate on WoWScape is the donors, you play on WoWScape 10 years (example) and have the best gear there is to have, but some noob comes with a donor sword and duels you in PVP and he kills you with the average attack while you need to constantly use special moves to keep up with his damage.
By Robby The Sheef on Friday, December 05, 2008 4:53:37 AM
These folks hating are douchebags Don. Relax, they will always be douchebags, there's no helping that. You were informing people of something, not arguing that wowscape is a bagillion times better than crack cocaine. Relax folks. I play on wowscape, and I generally don't lag, and the downtime isn't a problem, because I own a copy of fallout 3. Eat it.
By Mader on Sunday, December 07, 2008 9:38:33 AM
Blizzard has been taking action on WoW servers. All the great awesome servers are gone atm, so WoWScape or Under World are the best choices right now. :(
By yuweh on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 2:01:33 AM
I do play in wowscape and I complete my gear in just 1 month.. so stop saying that wowscape is a damn server"WoWscape is the best place to go for those with tight wallets who crave adventure.. I do pvp and I kill donor so its your own strategy.. my hemorage suck at 4260 and my enemy can move 'coz of my great combo. Its is fun in wowscape 'coz there is donor who can tank you in raid.. rather than in other server where you wait for an hour to have a raid..whic do have a chance to fail..... Donation is the one who runs and funds the gameso consider it
By LCDscreen on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 4:58:29 PM
So whats wrong with WowScape, i know i cant play it right now cause on one of my comps i have Wotlk dl'd, but i cant seem to log on from my bros computer who only plays scape...i cant even find the website anymore :( maaakes me shead a tear it does
By Don Haynes on Saturday, December 13, 2008 3:23:30 AM
LCDscreen, WoWscape has become scapegaming.com. I suppose they plan to move onto a wider variety of games to host. And right now, Underworld is the best according to the Top100 list. But I'm not much for the funservers. I feel if you can't go Blizzard, then go Blizz-like. Otherwise you're not really playing the game... And thanks for the kind backup there, Robby.

Adding my 2 cents. I've been a wow player for almost three years, and tried some of the other "free" servers. While I think it may be a great way to play the game for people not wanting all of what blizz has to offer... I don't believe it's a good way to play the game. Many times pets or quests are bugged, many top end boss encounters don't work properly. So you don't get a real feel for the pve aspect. But if you just want sociability the "free" price tag is probably just about right. :)

    i wanna play this
By Don Haynes on Monday, January 05, 2009 1:57:22 PM
noA, I'm going to tell you what my mom told me every time I told her I was hungry... Go Play! You can get the original WoW and TBC expansion for around $40 online, and it comes with a month of online play with Blizzard. After that, if you want to play private servers, then simply google for them. They all have instructions on how to access their servers.
By Papillon on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 8:02:08 AM
Left WOWscape. Eventually the owners carred more about money then Blizzard.

Moved 25 WOWScape players back to Blizzard servers. Spend 1000 euros buying full versions WOTLK for them and gave them 120 days free play.

In the END Power and Money corrupted WoWScape even more then it ever did with Blizzard.

So just go back to Blizzard people !

Simple fact of the matter is, that some people don't want to pay to play a game after paying for it. I honestly don't give a crap what the admins or owners are doing. Greed? Corruption? Probably. But obviously everyone, EVERYONE, missed the point of this article. You found edges and the grass behind it, but missed the target completely.

As of today, I am done responding to comments on this article. Aside from the fact that it is going to be year old soon enough and is no longer accurate in the least, I've become quite bored with it. On to other things to read, my friends.

    To Don Haynes

I wanted to play an online game like Ultima Online pre Trammel. Or now i call it WOW pre TBC. For that i looked for a server since blizzard no longer provides WOW original.

I ended up on Wowscape. But they made a mess of that server in all sorts of ways because the OWNERS of the server want people to DONATE money for items thus ruin FAIR gameplay.

is wowscape up right now with lich king? please reply
By Don Haynes on Friday, May 29, 2009 10:58:51 PM
Uhhhgg.. Okay, one for the road I guess. Canon6 and Richard, Lich King is up on WS, and the realmlist is logon.scapegaming.com. Jim, I thought you died long ago. I loved Light My Fire. Yes, they have become corrupt and power money hungry. But they also offer pretty much the only truly Blizzlike server out there.
By Don Haynes on Friday, May 29, 2009 11:00:41 PM
Most of the private servers out there are fun servers that are on the verge of ridiculous. I perfer Blizzlike over anything, so that's why I play them still. I also have a paid account with Blizzard, and you are always going to be better off with Blizzard if you want decency and authenticity.
By Don Haynes on Sunday, May 31, 2009 8:10:14 PM
Official. Final. This is the last post. I have asked for interviews with Scape's management. I have grown tired of how crappy the website has become, and I'm tired of everyone telling me what I already know about this old article. It's outdated and ScapeGaming sucks. In my opinion, DON'T USE SCAPEGAMING UNLESS YOU HAVE NO OTHER OPTIONS.

Scapegaming is shutdown - Peyton ran off with all the donation money - in the many thousands that idiots 'donated' for overpower gear - she laughed all the way to the bank - until she got caught and is now being sued - grats to all the 'noobs' who payed her bills and financed her rich lifestyle
