MS-DOS
1. An acronym for Microsoft Disk Operating System.
2. Microsoft’s first operating system and developed to accompany IBM’s first IBM PC in August 1981. MS-DOS is a 16-bit operating system.
MS-DOS 1.0 was a renamed version of QDOS, which Microsoft purchased from Seattle Computer Products in July of 1981.
