Lately I’ve been busy importing a lot of news and other content from the old OCmodshop site, and of course some of the fondest memories was of the Xbox 360 launch (coverage here) in November of 2005. The energy and brotherhood of gamers was everywhere at this time, and I never had more fun standing in line in the cold Seattle fog.
The Playstation 3 and Wii launches soon followed, and it has been a long time since I’ve been able to cover the events. The Playstation and Wii launches just weren’t as exciting as the Xbox 360 launches, at least in Seattle. Both Nintendo of America and Microsoft are literally within blocks of each other, so it’s surprising that the big N doesn’t do more within the city.
Thankfully I’ll get that chance again on November 18, 2012. Nintendo’s Wii U will be launched, and hopefully will revitalize the spot within me that just hasn’t felt the gaming love. At least then I can finally get the insider info off my chest that I’ve been bound by with non-disclosure agreements.
