Medieval 2 : Total War (PC) review
Driver Heaven :: Sunday, November 26, 2006
“Medieval II is (as all Total War games) composed of two main parts – the turn based strategic map and the real-]time tactical battles. The strategic map is where most of the time will be spent in the main campaign. You have to manage the regions you have control over, build up your armies and develop your settlements.”

Gears of war (XBOX 360) review
Driver Heaven :: Thursday, November 23, 2006
” The Xbox 360 debuted over a year ago and has been readily available in retail stores for quite some time now. There have certainly been a handful of titles that raised the bar for next generation standards, but the 360 never had a killer app, but that’s all about to change. Gears of War is an incredible first person shooter that blends tactical elements with a fast paced, intense experience that simply makes it a must have title for any 360 owner. With its state of the art presentation, cutting edge gameplay style, and extensive multiplayer features, there’s absolutely no doubt that Gears of War will be up in the running for Game of the Year in 2006.”

Nintendo Wii Review
Driver Heaven :: Wednesday, November 22, 2006
The next generation of gaming came into full force this month seeing the releases of both Sony’s PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii. The PS3 and Xbox 360 have a bitter rivalry because they are both regarded as technical powerhouses, and because of its less powerful components the Wii is often called “a GameCube on steroids”. While it certainly won’t outperform the other two in benchmark tests, what the Wii lacks in power it more than makes up for innovation. After trying out the Wii, we found it to be so much more than a creative system with a ridiculous name.

Let’s find out in today’s game review.

Dark Messiah: Might and Magic (PC)
Driver Heaven :: Tuesday, November 21, 2006
The latest games in the Might and Magic series have been mostly so-so. None of them were bad (far from it actually), but for the most part they didn’t quite meet expectations. Fans of the lore (as well as fps junkies) had high hopes for the next iteration of the franchise – the medieval fps Dark Messiah. The preview videos all looked great and from what could be seen the game play wasn’t bad either. Though some people were worried that the game would get boring and repetitive very quickly (kicking people into spikes is only fun for so long) the general opinion was that the game would be good.

ny Playstation 3 Review
Digital Trends :: Tuesday, November 21, 2006
“Is the system, available in 20GB ($499, sans WiFi and a built-in combination Memory Stick product lineup, Compact Flash and SD/MMC card reader) or $599 chrome-trimmed wireless-ready 60GB hard drive models, worth the hefty asking price, the highest since early-’90s systems like CDi and 3DO? Can Sony, who’s recently cut back North American November 17th launch date ship projections to just 400,000 units (with some analysts predicting actual distribution of half this number or fewer machines), manage to avoid aggravating a soon-to-be-device-deprived buying public while still keeping up with the competition? And, of course, with so much power and hardware combined in a single unit catered to the highest-end luxury users, is there even a point to upgrading? ”

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories (PSP)
Driver Heaven :: Tuesday, November 21, 2006
If there is one game series that is known to the general populace it is the GTA series. Its controversial nature has sparked many arguments, law suits and allegedly even murders. Whatever the truth, it is apparent that the GTA games possess that “something” that makes them hard to put down, even at three o’clock in the morning. A year ago the franchise made its debut on the PSP and game critics agreed that while the game was good it many of the features which its “bigger” brothers had. Over a year later the prequel to Vice City is here – according to Rockstar the issues from Liberty City Stories are gone and none of the features from the PS2 versions are missing. Time to find out how much truth there is to these statements!

NHL 2K7 (xbox 360)
Driver Heaven :: Tuesday, November 21, 2006
It’s easy to argue that NHL 2K6 was more of a quick-and-dirty port than a true Xbox 360 title because the developers wanted it to be ready for launch, and as a result that game wasn’t leaps and bounds ahead of the PS2 and Xbox versions. This year, however, is much different because NHL 2K7 combines enhanced gameplay features with the new Cinemotion presentation to undoubtedly improve on an already great series. As a result, it’s clear to see that NHL 2K7 360 is not just another port, but instead we see just how powerful the Xbox 360 can be.

For review today I have independent Games Vol2 from Moodance Games. The indie game festival recently ended and these games are the best of the bunch deemed so by a panel of judges. There are a lot of them here over 20 actually,I have tons of screenshots and in game movies for you to check out. This collection literally has something for everyone. If you are a gamer I would highly suggest you go out and get this collection, every game on here might not be for you but you will find quite a few that are highly enjoyable. The price of this collection is very low, and affordable for most anyone, considering all that you do get, seeing that most single games these days cost upwards of fifty dollars or more. Sit back, relax and enjoy the review… ”

Battlefield 2142 Review
Gamepyre :: Tuesday, November 21, 2006
All the vehicles, even the gunship’s and transports, are very easy to control with just a keyboard and mouse, and far easier to fly than the helicopters of Battlefield 2. The rate at which you gain ranks feels good, just in the first day of playing I had an unlock or two, rather than having to play game after game for days on end just to get a new kit improvement. Futuristic technologies such as EMP grenades and portable shields add a new dynamic to the gameplay, and to the teamwork. The new Titan mode does add some replay ability and originality to the game, but on many levels it feels more like an expansion pack for Battlefield 2 than a full game in itself, I’d much rather see a new engine than just a futuristic setting on the same engine from the previous game. If the price came down $5-10 in range, it would be better for the money spent.
