Introduction
Yes we have another review for a Danger Den product, by now I don’t even need to tell you that Danger Den is one of the main water cooling manufacturers in the USA. In this review I’m going to have a good look at a new product from Danger Den, their new fillport. A what? A fillport, it is basically a port connected to a barb sealed of with a hex nut, which you use to fill and bleed your water cooling loop without opening your case.

In general there are two ways of setting up a water cooling loop. The first is with a reservoir and the second is via a “fill and bleed” loop. I won’t go in-depth for the pros and cons because there is more then enough information about that subject on the web, however I will be using it in a “fill and bleed” loop.
Lets have a closer look at the fillport.
 
So how is it constructed? The construction is amazing simple and yet nobody came up with this idea in a consumer product, so I disassembled it to have a better look.
 
From left to right we have; a hex nut (end cap), the “port” itself, the Perspex nut, and the end hose barb.
Looking at the rubbers
 
In between every connection that has or could have contact with the water there is a rubber O ring. The hex nut and the hose barb have one so no water can escape your system, and the port itself has one to. I think they added that one so it keeps a firm grip on the case you install it into and it stops vibration feedback from the pump as well.
As you can see the inside of the fillport is covered with threads, so to fit the hex nut and the hose barb.
 
The fillport itself is made of anodized aluminum and is available in 4 colors: red, black, blue, and clear. The hex nut is made from metal, normally this would rust but they thought of that and gave the end cap a cadmium coating to prevent rust. I’ve been using this fillport for a few weeks now and there’s not even a slight sign of discoloration with the coating applied.
Danger Den didn’t include any instructions with the fillport, but then again it seems pretty self explanatory. You need to drill a 1 inch hole in to you case or any other thing you want to add a fillport to. The caliper confirms our 1 inch diameter, and for the fun of it I also measured the inside of the port itself, it’s a half an inch wide. I do have to note that I still needed to use a funnel when trying to pour coolant in via a small opening otherwise I would have gotten coolant all over the place.
 
When you have your hole drilled simply slide it in place and use the Perspex nut to secure it in place.
P.S. don’t slip with your tools (yes I made a mistake, sue me)
 
Then go ahead and connect the tubing to your reservoir or T line if your using a closed loop, your imagination how to use it is all up to you, I say be creative.
This is what I did. I’m also the one mad enough to fit a large watercooling system in a mini tower.
So when your PC is all closed up the only thing (in my case) you’ll see is the fillport, I leave you with these final pictures.

So what do I think about this product, well in one word “superb”. This is by far the most useful piece of kit you can get if you don’t want to open up the case or take the whole cooling, just to get out any air that’s trapped or fill up the system. And for a mere $11.95 what have you got to lose?
The only thing I dint like was the Perspex nut, Danger Den is addicted to Perspex or so it would seem. I was afraid to use much force on it when locking it into place afraid it might break, maybe something to look at in the next products. Although there where no instructions I didn’t think they where needed, after all you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure out you need to drill a hole. Overall I am very satisfied with this product so I am going to give it a 9.5/10 and award it the OCModShop Seal of Approval
