An Introduction and Recent Happenings

So before I go ahead with anything else, I wanted to go ahead and give a brief introduction to everyone. My name is Tyler Pilgrim and I’m a 19 year old computer science major out of Georgia College and State University and UGA. I’m also working on a minor in English, which was originally my major. Gaming and computers have been my life for as long as I remember, and I love all console and PC games that I can get my hands on. I also build custom computers for anyone who has the need or desire for anything from a small, home work computer to a top-of-the-line gaming computer. I have been married for almost a year to the most amazing woman in the world and we have a son who is 8 and a half months old. I love getting to talk to and know people so if anyone has any sort of question or comment you think I can address, shoot me an e-mail.

Ok, now that I got the political stuff out of the way, I just recently bought The Witcher: Enhanced Edition. I was looking around at Wally World and saw it, thought it looked fairly nifty, went home and researched it, then bought it a few days later. I actually just got it today because of the horrific shipping I ordered for it so i haven’t had a chance to play it, I’ve only installed it and watched the opening cinematic which, I have to say, is very well thought out. I don’t want to say that I would judge a book by it’s cover but the opening cinematic for this game is brilliant because it doesn’t showcase hundreds of abilities and attacks that the main character can’t actually use in-game. This shows a (fairly) typical fight in the game, albeit much smoother and with many more camera angles :P I can’t wait to get started playing it.

I’ve also been playing WoW, but that isn’t much of a surprise. I love Warcraft and I play WoW every chance I get. About two weeks ago I built my in-laws an above average gaming computer out of some parts I acquired from a guy at work. It’s got a Striker Extreme motherboard, 2 gigs of ram, a 320 gig HDD, a PNY Geforce 8800 video card, an LG DVD read/write combo, and I believe an Intel dual core..2.8 ghz? Anyway, I got it put together and it’s running like a charm. We haven’t really put too many hardcore games on it yet but I know it’ll run just about anything fairly well.

I think that’s about it for a first blog post. We’ve got a little bit of downtime in the gaming world right now, but that’s how it always is after the holiday season. Again guys, if you ever want to drop me a comment or question or anything, is the place to send it. Hope to hear from you soon!
