Finally… almost done with the archives section! It took a while, but I finally migrated all old news to the new database and updated the Archives link.
Now the old archives.aspx file can officially be retired… the new page supports paging (breaking the news up into bite-sized chunks instead of dumping everything into one page, which kills load time) and many other features. The archive listing is also maintenance-free, so they automatically generate links as time passes by.
Since everything is now in one database, I can finally work on a search engine… we currently have over 19,000 news items in the database, seperated into different categories. We generally add about 1,000 more news items every few weeks.
